On Sept. 11, our kids had their first day at pre-school. They now go twice a week for 3 hours at a time. Carolina still has a bit of separation anxiety, but they both seem to be enjoying it and are making new friends. I’ve placed a few pictures from their first day of pre-school online and some of their first bike riding in the family photo album.

El 11 de Septiembre, Carolina y Zakari fueron a su primer dia de pre-escuela. Ahora van dos veces a la semana para 3 horas a la vez. Carolina todavia tiene dificultad en separar de nosotros, pero parece ser que los dos van disfrutandolo y van haciendo amigos nuevos. He puesto fotos del primer dia de pre-escuela y algunos fotos de los dos en bicicletas en el album de la familia.

Life has been kind of crazy lately. The last update occurred just before my job interview for a tenure-track position at the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Minnesota State University Moorhead. I got the job, and immediately had to turn around and prepare for my observing run at Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory in Chile (more about this at SCSUAstronomy.com). Then I got hit by final exams, followed by an unsuccessful search for a home in Moorhead… so the summer will likely prove to be busy. In any case, all this activity has not stopped the kids from growing and generally being three year olds. They are excited about moving to Moorhead (where they will inform you there is a pool [in the hotel]), but first we have to pack up the house and sell the house (not in that order necessarily). Selling the house involves “showing the house” which means lots of repeated cleaning up around the house. Zakari y Carolina are coping with this activity well (last night, Catherine actually painted part of their room while they slept!). Here are some photos to prove it.

La vida ha sido un pocito loco últimamente. El ultimo revisión de estas paginas ocurrió momentos antes de mi entrevista de trabajo para una posición permanente en el departamento de la física y astronomía en Minnesota State University Moorhead. Conseguí la posición, y tuve que darme la vuelta inmediatamente y preparar para mis observaciones en el Observatorio Interamericano Cerro Tololo en Chile (más sobre esto en SCSUAstronomy.com [es en Ingles]). Entonces tuve el golpe de los exámenes finales seguido por una búsqueda fracasada para una casa en Moorhead… así que parece ser que vamos a estar muy ocupado este verano. En ningún caso, toda esta actividad no ha parado a nuestros jóvenes de crecer y de ser jóvenes de tres años. Se excitan sobre la posibilidad de mover a Moorhead (los dos le informarán que hay una piscina allí [ en el hotel ]), pero primero tenemos que empaquetar la casa y vender la casa (no en esa orden necesariamente). La venta de la casa implica que tememos que “enseñar la casa”, así que tenemos muchas oportunidades para limpieza repetida alrededor de la casa.
