You can turn it around an use it as a list of errors in logic to avoid in your own writing and speaking. The article is encrypted because it is copyrighted. |

It's not aimed at the logical fallacies you will encounter directly. Instead, it is aimed at the actions of the scientist promoting the science. I suppose one could consider it a list of "legitimate" ad hominem attacks. |
| On Being A Scientist: Responsible Conduct in Research | August 15 | PDF (encrypted) | This is an encrypted PDF (same password used earlie) of an article published by the National Academy of Sciences regarding ethics in scientific research. This link is to the second edition from 1995. The first edition report (from 1989) is also available as a PDF from Publications of the National Academy of Sciences, although it is significantly different from the article we will be reading. A Third Edition report is currently being worked on. |
