Astronomy 104 Final Gradebook

So How Final is my Final Letter Grade?: All grades are final
barring numerical error on our part in calculating your grade. The only exceptions
are students involved in suspected or confirmed cheating. These students will
have their cases forwarded to the Student Conduct Committee where their cases
will be reviewed before their grade can be considered "final."
To access your grades, enter your modified Dragon ID (MDI). Your MDI consists
of the last 4 digits of your Dragon ID plus the middle initial of your name
(if available). Try first with the middle initial. If your score doesn't come
up, try just the last 4 digits of your Dragon ID. If it still doesn't come
up, check with you lecture instructor.
- If you attended Dr. Gardner's lecture and turned
in a writeup on it, it was added as Homework 14.
- Labs Scoring:
- If you had more than 3 unexcused absences from lab activities (including the field trip), you have failed Astronomy 104.
- If you didn't attend a lab or field trip according to our records, your lab grade will be listed as a "N".
- If you were excused from the lab or field trip, your lab grade is listed
as an "E".
- Course Scoring
- The "Grade Percentage" is your final weighted grade.
- The percentages listed in the first few columns are based on the Best 11 Homework, the Best (X-1) Labs/Field Trips (where "X" is the number of labs you were unexcused from).
- The Final Letter grades are computed based on course grading policy listed here. We did shift the ranges for the letter grades down so that A's were 88% and up, B's were 78% to 88%, C's were 65% to 78%, D's were 50% to 65% and F's were less than 50%.
