A Private Universe August 21 Web Page and Windows Media File

This is a freely-available online streaming video of a "famous" (in astronomy teaching circles) video of Harvard graduates and faculty being interviewed on graduation day about "What causes the seasons?" and "What causes the Phases of the Moon?" Of 23 graduates/faculty asked what causes the seasons, 21 got it wrong!

This video shows how our preconceptions get in the way of our learning. We work on challenging the preconceptions in order to help you learn the concepts crucial to astronomy.

You will need Windows Media Player (on Windows) or the free Flip4Mac WMV Player (on MacOS) to view the video. It may take a minute to start up.
